Lane 1/18 Car Craft Mag Cheap Street 1970 Chevelle
Car Craft Magazine has long been a haven for fans of American Muscle cars, as well as a source for hardcore DIY types who like to spin the wrenches on their own cars. In keeping with these themes and as a means of showing readers that cool cars can be built on basic budgets, Car Craft launched Project Cheap Street Chevelle in the fall of 1994. The basic premise was to locate the right car- something from the muscle era of the lates 60s/early 70s- and then fix it up gradually, all while sticking to a budget. To keep the initial cost down, the car would be in need of some renovations, but the end result would be the type of street machine any Car Crafter would be proud to own. This diecast is a replica of the Cheap Street Chevelle that Car Craft created in their early 1990s quest for a rebuild project. After serving as a test mule and surviving grand theft auto, the original car became the grand prize drawing for the 2003 Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour.

Lane Exact Detail 1/18 1967 Chevrolet Camaro: White
In December 1966, Chevrolet quietly released one of the most famous options codes of all time, RPO Z-28. Unpublicized and unknown by most of the buying public, the only way someone could order the Z-28 package was to order a base Camaro with the Z-28 option, mandatory front disc brakes with power assist, and the Muncie 4-speed transmission. You could not order the SS package, automatic transmission, air conditioning, or the convertible. What you got was a unique 302 cid small block that was created by taking the 327 block and installing the short-stroke 283 crank. Specifically designed to compete in the SCCAs just introduced Trans Am racing series which placed a 305 cid limit on its entries, the Z-28 was available to the public solely to qualify the car for racing. Advertised horsepower was listed at a modest 290bhp. Hook the Z-28 up to a dyno and it told a different story: 360-400 bhp. The Z-28 also came with a competition suspension, broad racing stripes on the hood and trunklid and could be combined with the RS option package. There was no Z-28 badging at all, lest it attract too much attention. The Z-28 proved to be difficult to launch on the street because its high revving engine was lethargic under 4000rpm and worked best when it was shifted at 7500rpm (!). Once it got going, the Z28 was tough to beat and boosted a 140mph top speed and numerous racing victories. Only 602 Z-28s were sold in 1967, making it a truly desirable collectable.

Lane 1/18 1965 Z16 Chevelle- Yellow w/ Black
The 1965 Malibu SS 396, more commonly known by its RPO code of Z16, was an impressive showcase of engineering ability and sticker shock. The Z16 package included not only a 375 hp 396 ci engine and beefed up drivetrain, it included much of the Chevelle option list! RPO Z16 increased the base sticker price by more than half but included a sturdy boxed convertible frame, full-size Chevrolet brakes, a narrowed full-size Chevrolet rear axle, heavy duty suspension components including front and rear sway bars, power steering, power brakes, heavy duty cooling, tachometer, comfort and convenience group, and much more. It was not an average Chevelle with a bigger engine, far from it. To keep the profile high and demand strong, only 201 Malibu SS 396 cars were slated for production. 200 of these were hardtops, and only one was a convertible. Since these Chevelles were so rare even among Chevy dealers, many of them were used as promotional tools with some being given to race winners and celebrities to promote the cars image. Lane Collectibles has definitely made this replica one to have in your collection. The attention to detail here is second to none, with its fully plumbed and wired engine, folding seats, transmission, spare tire in the trunk, and more.

AutoArt 1/18 Colin McRae/Nicky Grist 2002 Ford Focus
Colin McRae, MBE, the son of five-time British Rally Champion, Jimmy McRae, is a former World Rally Championship driver. He won the world drivers title in 1995, was championship runner-up in 1996, 1997 and 2001, and third in 1998. He helped Subaru to the Manufacturers title in 1995, 1996 and 1997, and Citro in 2003. He was awarded the title of MBE (Member of the British Empire) by Queen Elizabeth II in 1996. McRae won his first WRC rally in 1993, piloting the Prodrive-built Subaru Legacy in the Rally New Zealand, before aiding Subaru to a three-year sweep of titles, including one for himself in 1995 after a thrilling final round duel on his home event, with team-mate and double world champion Sainz. He later also won the 1998 Race of Champions. After several years of varying success, Colin switched to the M-Sport Ford team in 1999, behind the wheel of the new Ford Focus WRC rally car. This move was rewarded with two quickfire wins at the Safari Rally and Rally Portugal. With victory on the Safari Rally in 2002, McRae made the record books as a driver with most event wins in the World Rally Championship. Spaniard Carlos Sainz and Frenchman Sastien Loeb have since overtaken him. His longtime co-driver, Nicky Grist, is perhaps the worlds most famous co-driver. This next piece is a 1/18 scale replica of the Ford Focus RS that McRae and co-driver Grist drove to a fourth place finish in the 2002 Rally Monte Carlo. It was produced by AutoArt in a very limited edition run. The car features a full diecast body, sleek body design, realistic decal placement, and a display base and clear cover. With McRaes tragic death in 2007, his collectibles are becoming all the more rare. Dont miss this chance to own a collectible that honors the late World Rally Champion!
